Listen, we've all been there before. It's way too early in the morning, you've got an assignment due or a work-related project, and fatigue and delirium are at its highest and creativity at its lowest. So you put your best foot forward and hammer away, hoping the end result is solid enough.

It feels good to see a game like Expedition 33 succeed.

It turns out, the writer of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, Jennifer Svedberg-Yen, was in this exact predicament during the development of the title. In the end, it gave birth to one of the game's most poignant and also silly scenes.

In an interview with Polygon, Svedberg-Yen revealed that the conversation between Esquie and Verso about François, featuring the very hilarious "Whee" and "Whoo," was the result of some late-night — or early morning, if that's more your speed — writing.

"That was me at three in the morning trying to come up with something," Svedberg-Yen revealed. "I needed to write seven relationship dialogues for Esquie!"

According to the writer, the script for Expedition 33 clocks in at about 800 pages long, and that's not including NPC dialogue or lore documents. With so much space...
