Arrowhead Game Studios and Sony have released another new Helldivers 2 update, and this one is bringing the fight straight into the heart of managed democracy, so prepare to defend your home from filthy alien invaders.
This update comes hot on the heels of another patch last week, which introduced new Illuminate enemies for you to take on, as well as a weapon customization system to give you somewhere to spend your Requisition resource.
In the Heart of Democracy update, however, the Illuminate are taking the fight to Super Earth, so it's up to you to head back to your home planet and defend "the towering skyscrapers and crowded streets" of your home turf.
You'll be fighting inside the city biomes of Super Earth, battling Illuminate foes as they "rain down destruction all around you". Arrowhead says you'll be tussling with the Illuminate over control of certain areas, "gaining and losing control quickly".
As you fight, you'll meet squads of Super Earth troops, who can either battle Illuminate by themselves or join you to do battle against your alien foes. You can also activate Planetary Defense Cannons to "take down the Illuminate fleet in a grand show of power".
