Cyberpunk 2077's sequel is in development. Right now, it's only known as Project Orion, and we're years away from being able to play it. However, it's in active development, so much so that Cyberpunk's creator, Mike Pondsmith, has something to say about it.
According to Pondsmith, the next Cyberpunk game is taking us to at least two cities. Unsurprisingly, one of them will be Night City, making a grand return from Cyberpunk 2077. But there will also be a second city that we get to explore, that Pondsmith explains is like "Chicago gone wrong".
This was reported by CD-Action, who spotted this during Pondsmith's talk at Digital Dragons 2025.
"There's another city we visit, I'm not telling you anymore than that, but there's another city we visit," says Pondsmith. "Night City is still there, but I remember looking at it going, yeah, I understand what you're going for. This really does work. And it doesn't feel like Blade Runner, it feels more like Chicago gone wrong."
Last year, players started to spot posters in the game that advertised transport between Night City and Chicago, so this new location could actually be Chicago itself. These posters said "coming in...
