Helldivers 2 players were shocked by the (admittedly expected) news that Super Earth has officially been invaded by the Illuminate, bringing with them new weaponry and enemy types. It's looking pretty dire, but thankfully, the Helldivers have backup too, coming in the form of the brave SEAF soldiers that accompany you on your missions in the heart of democracy.
While they're not the greatest at combat, they're loyal and eager to please, and Helldivers 2 players have become immediately enamored with them. Over on the Helldivers 2 subreddit, you'll see quite a few posts talking about how precious the SEAF soldiers are, including one from Cad_bane_2 with a whopping 19k upvotes that says that they and their fellow Helldivers should "protect them at all cost".
It also doesn't help that you can actually interact with the SEAF soldiers, making it a lot easier to get attached to them. A user called Firaxyiam discovered that SEAF soldiers will actually react when a players does a Super Earth salute, sharing a video of a group of soldiers gathering around them and saluting back. You can even get these soldiers to follow you into battle if you tell them to....
