Samsung Reportedly To Provide OLED Screens For Future Switch 2 Refresh

While the Nintendo Switch 2 isn't even out yet, news regarding the console's refresh has seemingly surfaced already, and it's one that's believable given what we've seen from Nintendo hardware releases.

The Bloomberg report mentions that Nintendo has now tapped Samsung to manufacture the chips for the Switch 2, helping the video game company meet consumer demand for the console.

Switch 2 Refresh Might Feature An OLED Screen

Bloomberg's source, who understandably wishes to remain anonymous, has said that aside from providing chips for Nintendo, the electronics giant is also pushing for its OLED panels to be used on the Switch 2 when it's released in the future.

Of course, this is assuming we'll see an OLED Switch 2 version, though that's not outside the realm of possibility given how the original Switch also had an OLED version as part of its system refresh that launched in 2021.

The current Switch 2 screen uses a 7.9-inch (20-cm) LCD touchscreen with 1080p resolution (279 ppi) and HDR, which supports a variable refresh rate of up to 120 Hz. When docked, the console can output up to 1440p at 120 Hz or 4K resolution at 60 Hz with HDR....
