It seems the PC version of Hitman 3 will be an Epic Games Store exclusive when it releases.

On the official Hitman 3 website, it was announced that the PC version of the game will be be timed exclusive for the Epic Games Store. The game will be exclusive to the platform for 12 months. It was also revealed that PC players will be able to carryover their progress and unlocks from Hitman 2 on Steam to Hitman 3 on the Epic Games Store. It will also be possible for PC gamers to import locations from the previous two Hitman titles into Hitman 3

"As an independent studio, our partnership with Epic has given us the freedom to create Hitman 3 exactly how we imagined and self-publish the game to our players directly," developer IO Interactive stated. "It's also important to us that we honor the time our existing PC players have spent in our previous games."

IO Interactive also showed off a new location for Hitman 3. Players will be taken to Dartmoor, where they will have to discover the secrets of an old manor and uncover clues in order to solve the Thornbridge Mystery. This mystery is just one of the Mission Stories that will be available to players in Dartmoor. Along with playing detective and piecing the mystery together, players will have the freedom to explore and come up with their own plans. Usually a murder mystery would task players with figuring out how someone was murdered, whereas in Hitman, players need to figure out how to kill their target. In the Dartmoor location, these two worlds will collide as players try to solve a murder while also eliminating their target.

Hitman 3 will release in January 2021 for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and Google Stadia. Pre-orders for the game are expected to go live later this month.
