Star Wars Battlefront 2 has seen a jaw-dropping player spike recently, and it’s largely thanks to the recent success of another project existing in the galaxy far, far away. Other factors that have contributed to the player increase include the May 4 celebrations, an annual Star Wars event, and the anniversary of Star Wars: Episode 3 – Revenge of the Sith, which received a re-release in cinemas. Additionally, Fortnite’s new Galactic Battle could also have brought a large chunk of players back to Star Wars Battlefront 2, which involves an Imperial takeover in the battle royale.
The action shooter was developed by DICE, in collaboration with Criterion Games and Motive Studios, and released to the public in 2017, focusing its narrative on original character, Iden Versio, who joins the New Republic against the Galactic Empire. Star Wars Battlefront 2 is one of the best space games with ship-boarding, including the likes of Executive Assault 2, Heat Signature, and FTL: Faster Than Light, and is a fantastic, immersive experience that puts players in the epic space opera action.
