Gearbox's Randy Pitchford has tried to explain his recent controversial comments about "real" Borderlands fans finding a way to pay for Borderlands 4 if it ends up costing $80.

Ever since Nintendo announced that Mario Kart World would cost $80 a few months ago, all anyone in the gaming world can talk about is how expensive each upcoming release is bound to be. While some games like Mafia: The Old Country have bucked the trend, it seems like most big releases are now going to be carrying that heavy price point.

The latest game to be included in the big price point debate is none other than Borderlands 4, which many assume is going to cost $80 considering all the talk about its development budget. Gearbox's Randy Pitchford recently commented on all the speculation about Borderlands 4's price, but his response wasn't exactly popular.
