Ever since FromSoftware really burst onto the scene with Dark Souls, arguments have been made over whether soulslikes should have difficulty options. On one hand, you have people claiming that the game would be more accessible, as the difficulty of soulslike can make them unplayable for some, while on the other, some argue that the punishing nature of soulslikes is the whole point, as you overcome tough bosses through practice and patience.

Despite the never-ending arguments, the vast majority of soulslikes these days tend to go without difficulty options, but Lies of P developer Neowiz is now bucking that trend. Revealed by VGC earlier today, Lies of P will be getting difficulty options when its big Overture DLC launches later this summer, and yes, you will be able to make the game easier.

According to the announcement, Lies of P: Overture and the base game will be getting two additional difficulty options when the DLC launches, those being "Butterfly's Guidance" and "Awakened Puppet". We can assume that the former will be the easier mode, while the latter will be harder, with the default difficulty option now called "Legendary Stalker".
