Space Marine 2 Gets 12-Player Co-Op Thanks To Fans, But Devs Won't Officially Support It

Since it launched last year, Warhammer 40,000 Space Marine 2 has strictly supported only three-player co-op for the campaign and PvE Operations, but a new mod increases that limit to let 12 players fight the Imperium's foes together. The mod is certainly impressive, and adds some new variety to the game, but the developers at Saber Interactive are adamant that Space Marine 2 is sticking to its three-person limit.

Modders at Warhammer Workshop (via Ko-fi) have gotten a 12-player co-op mod for Space Marine 2 up and running, sparking hopes that the breakthrough would lead to official support, especially for the upcoming Siege Mode set to arrive with Patch 8 in June. According to IGN, though, Saber Interactive isn't interested in reworking its three-player system, which will carry over into Siege when it launches.

IGN spoke with Saber Interactive CCO Tim Willits about Space Marine 2's upcoming Siege Mode, and the 12-player mod was discussed.
