While We All Wait On Star Wars Battlefront 3, There's A Reason Why The OG Battlefront Never Got A Third Game

In case you missed it, Star Wars Battlefront 2 (the 2017 version) is having a massive resurgence in popularity. What seemed like a one-off due to May 4 AKA Star Wars Day has turned into a full-blown revolution, including the breaking of a four-year-old record of peak players.

There's nothing better than routing your enemy in your favorite IP.

Things have gotten so popular that one of its developers wants to "get the gang back together" to make a Battlefront 3. And if that wasn't enough, there's even a Star Wars actor with over 500 in-game hours lobbying to make a third title happen. That said, while we all hope for a potential Battlefront 3, there was once a time that the original Battlefront series was in line to get a third game, until things fell apart.

In an interview with VideoGamer, designer Dan Nanni shared that Pandemic Studios, who were responsible for the first two games, did indeed begin work on a potential third title in the franchise.
