The Nintendo Switch 2 will finally be here in under two weeks. Nintendo's newest console has been a long time coming, having debuted in March 2017, eight years ago.
Unsurprisingly, demand for the console is sky high, with it selling out almost instantly online. Everyone except Nintendo expected this demand, who felt the console would be "too expensive."
It's ironic for Nintendo to have this concern while charging $10 for Nintendo Switch 2 Welcome Tour, a game that serves as a glorified tech demo. The goal is to introduce us to the features of the Switch 2 in a more interactive and entertaining manner. Of course, immediate comparisons were made to the launch of the Nintendo Wii, which included Wii Sports as a free game with the console. Wii Sports became one of the biggest games of all time. Unless I'm mistaken, don't expect Welcome Tour to light the world on fire. Yet that doesn't mean it'll sit on shelves forever collecting dust.
