Earlier this month, NetherRealm Studios announced the release of Mortal Kombat 1: Definitive Edition, which bundled the base game with all the released DLCs. This complete edition also includes a pre-order bonus, Shang Tsung, and even character skins themed after the recently released Mortal Kombat movie.

Don't Expect Any Mortal Kombat 1 DLC Packs To Be Released
The announcement was my by the official Mortal Kombat Twitter/X account, where it also confirmed that NetherRealm has moved on to work on their next project.
The announcement reads, "We are hearing players’ requests for continued game support of Mortal Kombat 1, and, while we will continue to support Mortal Kombat 1 through balance adjustments and fixes, there will not be additional DLC characters or story chapters released from this point on."
In a separate tweet, it continued, "We understand this will be disappointing for fans, but our team at NetherRealm needs to shift focus to the next project in order to make it as great as we possibly can."
