The New Name for Ubisoft's Gods & Monsters Has Leaked

It's been a while since we've seen much for Ubisoft's Gods & Monsters, but more info could be right around the corner following this ratings board leak. After previously stating the name for the Breath of the Wild-esque action-adventure game would one day receive a name change, it seems the Taiwanese ratings board has outed that new name ahead of an official reveal.

According to a recent decision on the game's rating, the name is now Immortals: Fenyx Rising. First spotted by Gematsu, the details (and its rating at all) reveal this is likely a game that is almost here and not a new project. It's been rated for most current-generation platforms including Xbox One, PS4, Switch, and PC. Combine all that with the fact that it was due a name change anyway and it seems likely this is the game formerly known as Gods & Monsters

There's more too. The protagonist is named Fenyx, plus the game being about gods now being called "Immortals" makes sense, yes? To put it plainly, this is it. That leaves one important question though: when will we see it in action? As you may recall, Gods & Monsters was one of three Ubisoft games pushed out of the first quarter of 2020 by Ubisoft, citing poor reception for some recent games such as Ghost Recon: Breakpoint as reason for the delays.

With another Ubisoft Forward due sometime this month, we could be receiving news on the painterly open-world adventure very soon. Ubisoft has a busy holiday ahead of it with Assassin's Creed Valhalla and Watch Dogs Legion coming before December, so Immortals could join them as a late addition to the holiday lineup or we may see it in early 2020, roughly one year after its originally announced release window.
