Elden Ring: Nightreign just released version 1.01.1, and the patch notes should be exciting for anyone who wants to attempt solo runs in the game. The update, coming four days after the release of the game (and Patch 1.01), is the first update after the release of the game, and brings with it some very notable changes, especially for solo runs.

The biggest changes are both to solo expeditions. Firstly, each Night Boss battle now gives the effect “Automatic Revival Upon Defeat” to the lone Nightfarer, acting like a free Wending Grace and giving solo players a much greater chance to survive a run, since they now have a second chance.

Secondly, the number of runes gained has been increased for solo expeditions. In our testing, this amounted to a huge 50% increase in runes gained from enemies, which is a massive increase that actually helps balance out the high difficulty of solo expeditions. Now, with the proper strategies and a bit of luck, it is actually easier to reach the level cap of 15 on solo expeditions than cooperative ones!
