Nintendo Pulls Switch 2 From Its Official Japanese Stores One Day From Release

Nintendo has announced that it won’t be selling Switch 2 units at three of its own stores in Japan, with supply shortages seemingly being worse than first realized in its home country.

The launch of the Nintendo Switch 2 is nearly here, and it looks like a lot of people won't have access to the system, even if they pre-ordered it as soon as it became available. Retailers in North America, such as Walmart, have been canceling pre-orders without warning, leaving people in the lurch.

One would assume that the Nintendo Stores in Japan would be the one place on the planet where the Switch 2 would be guaranteed to be sitting on the shelves. Turns out, that’s not the case, as the official Nintendo Tokro/Osaka/Kyoto Twitter/X account has confirmed that they won’t have consoles or accessories for the time being.
