Both Mario and Sonic are getting new racing games soon, with Mario Kart World launching tomorrow and Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds hopefully releasing before the end of 2025 if all goes to plan. Now that one of those games is almost here, and we're learning more about it, fans of the plumber and the hedgehog have started taking shots at each other, arguing about which of their racing games will be better.
Confirmation that Mario Kart World won't have a 200cc mode is what has revived the 35-year-old back-and-forth between the fanbases of gaming's original warring mascots. World's producer Kosuke Yabuki told Rolling Stone that while they're aware players like the larger engine size option, they can't say at this stage whether it will be something added to World at a later date, like it was in Mario Kart 8.

Coincidentally, shortly after news that World won't have 200cc started to do the rounds, Sega jumped on the chance to reveal Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds' speed options. Although they don't have the same names as Mario Kart World's - that would be a little...
