Indie Hit Phasmophobia Is Getting A Movie Adaptation From The FNAF Studio

Another video game is set to get the movie treatment, and it's Kinetic Games' surprise horror hit, Phasmophobia. It won't be some soulless cash-in, either, as the production company behind it has the horror chops to ensure the film's quality matches that of the game.

For those unfamiliar with Phasmophobia, it's an investigative horror game with a multiplayer focus that's receiving seasonal content updates from the developers.

Developer Kinetic Games will also help in producing the film, which should ensure the movie's faithfulness to the game.

Phasmophobia Might Be The Next Big Video Game Horror Hit

Producing the film will be Blumhouse, the film production company that has a long track record of releasing top-notch horror movies. Joining the outfit is Atomic Monster, the production company founded by horror director James Wan (The Conjuring, Insidious), and, as mentioned previously, Kinetic Games will also be co-producing.

Phasmophobia, which was released in 2020, is a four-player online co-op psychological horror experience. Players must band together to investigate paranormal activity to gather as much evidence as they can. Needless to say, this is a game where jump scares are to be expected.
