CD Projekt Red has announced that The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will be making its way over to the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. No exact date or time window for the game's release have been given. This will be the Complete Edition of the title, and will come with the base game, both of the expansions, and extra content. The next-gen version of the game will feature a range of visual and technical improvements. This includes ray tracing and faster load times.

The next-gen version of The Witcher 3 will be a standalone purchase for PC, PlayStation 5, and the Xbox Series X. Those who already own the game on the PlayStation 4 or Xbox One will receive access to the upgraded version of the title as a free update.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt originally released for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One in 2015. The game was ported to the Nintendo Switch last year. The Switch version features cross-play with the PC version of the game through cloud saves. In The Witcher 3, players take on the role of Geralt of Rivia, who is part of a group of professional monster hunters called Witchers. Geralt is tasked with finding the Child of Prophecy, a living weapon that has the ability to alter the world. The game features a massive open-world set in a stunning fantasy universe. The game is packed with meaningful choices that have impactful consequences. The Witcher 3 garnered a ton of critical praise when it released, and won over 250 game of the Year awards in 2015.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is available now for PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and the Nintendo Switch. It will make its way over to the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X in the future.
