In case the launch and pre-order situation with the Switch 2 hasn’t been enough of a mess, some buyers are finding their consoles have been damaged by the store where they bought them.
So far (via IGN), the problem seems to mostly stem from a single GameStop location in Staten Island, New York, where employees stapled buyers’ receipts to the front of the Switch 2 box.
Unfortunately, the screen of the console is right at the front of the box without much protection aside from the cardboard itself and a thin plastic film, and the staples used to attach the receipt have proven capable of punching through the packaging and damaging the screen.

Fans who found their consoles damaged quickly took to social media like X and Reddit to vent their frustration.
One fan posted on Reddit showing off the damage to their Switch 2, and several others spoke up in the comments with similarly punctured screens, purchased from the same store.
