Scott Pilgrim EX was just announced at Summer Game Fest. It's a follow-up to Scott Pilgrim vs the World: The Game, which launched back in 2010.

The announcement trailer confirms that it will be a side-scrolling beat 'em up, just like the original game. Scott Pilgrim EX is launching at some point in 2026 and will be available on PC and console.

The premise of Scott Pilgrim EX is that three gangs have taken over Toronto: vegans, robots, and demons. So, it's very in keeping with the lore, even if it's a new story in the series.

There will be seven playable characters, just as it was in the original, once you unlocked NegaScott and bought Knives and Wallace. However, with only Scott and Ramona revealed so far, we might get a new cast of fighters this time, especially since the exes aren't the antagonists anymore.

Reboots can be more cognisant of the flaws in their source material and confront them head-on, like Scott Pilgrim Takes Off did.
