Hollow Knight fans are recovering from yet another showcase with no Silksong news, which is something they're very much used to by now. However, it stings even worse this time, because Silksong was at least mentioned on the Summer Game Fest stage, but only because it was the butt of a joke.
When announcing Deadpool VR, Geoff Keighley pretended to read a letter from the Merc with a Mouth himself. Here, Deadpool told Keighley to "skip that Silksong trailer", so his VR game could be revealed instead.
Now, the Silksong community isn't only in mourning, but it's waging war. Ever since Keighley made that jab at Summer Game Fest, the Silksong subreddit has been full of (good-natured, semi-ironic) Deadpool hate, and it's absolutely incredible to see.
As soon as you open the subreddit, you're almost guaranteed to see a post going after Deadpool, in retaliation for the stunt pulled at Summer Game Fest. Some fans are taking the hate to another level, and are even creating artwork that depicts Deadpool having a not-so-great time. You have to admire the dedication to haterism.
Almost all of it is in good faith, and just part of the routine...
