Gameplay for Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity will be shown at the Tokyo Game Show this year.
On the official Tokyo Game Show schedule (thanks Gematsu), it was revealed that gameplay for the upcoming Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity will be shown during a Koei Tecmo panel on September 26th. According to the listing, this will be the first live gameplay for the title. The panel will also feature the latest information on the game, including character introductions by the development team. The panel will be hosted by Ruriko Aoki, and will feature producers Yosuke Hayashi, Masaki Furusawa, and Ryouta Matsushita.
Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity was revealed earlier this week. Similar to the first Hyrule Warriors, Age of Calamity will have players fight through droves of enemies in Dynasty Warriors-type gameplay. So far it is known that gamers can play as Link, Zelda, and the four champions of Hyrule: Mipha, Revali, Daruk, and Urbosa. It can be assumed that a number of other playable characters will be available similar to the original Hyrule Warriors.
Age of Calamity will serve as a prequel to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Age of Calamity takes place 100 years before Breath of the Wild, and will tell the story of the struggle that brought Hyrule down to its knees. The title will give more insight on Zelda and the four Champions of Hyrule as they tried to save their kingdom from calamity. Age of Calamity will allow players to see these events for themselves, and see exactly what happened 100 years before the start of Breath of the Wild.
Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity will release on November 20th for the Nintendo Switch. The Amiibo of the four champions, Mipha, Revali, Daruk, and Urbosa, will re-release alongside the upcoming title.
