After pushing its original Steam Early Access date out of September and into October, Systemic Reaction, a team within the team at Avalanche Studios, has revealed a new launch date for the PC version of its co-op shooter, Second Extinction. It will now launch on October 13 for $24.99.
The team also detailed what players can expect in the Early Access version of the game. This includes four playable Heroes, 10 weapons, five upgrade tiers, and six missions spanning seven total regions.
Future updates will bring loadout modifiers, which behave like party buffs for each mission, armor augmentations, new game modes including Horde, an additional mutation, "and much more," says the team.
Second Extinction was first revealed during the spring Xbox Game Showcase. It's billed as a three-player co-op PvE first-person shooter which pits players against mutated dinosaurs. The game will feature some kind of community-driven gameplay, as noted on the game's spotlight page on Xbox.com.
"Together with the rest of the community, your actions will shape the course of the war against the dinosaurs. Stay tuned, to see how you will make a difference in the coming war."
The game will launch as a timed console exclusive on Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S, but not before its Early Access launch next month on October 13. You can wishlist the game now in anticipation of its launch in less than a month.
