Splitgate 2's opening weekend has been memorable, to say the least. Kicking off with a new trailer at Summer Game Fest, 1047 Games' CEO unveiled a battle royale mode, while wearing a "Make FPS Great Again" hat and taking a dig at Call of Duty. Then, players hit back against a $80 cosmetic bundle - which was on sale, with an original price of $145 - as they felt that this was antithetical to the developer's message.
Now, 1047 is trying to win back some goodwill, and is making an immediate change in response to this player feedback. The first course of action will be amending the price of the offending bundle, which will be priced at $40 instead. Anyone who purchased it for $80 will have the difference refunded.
"The first thing I want to do is double down on being community first and listening to you guys, because you guys are the reason we're here," says 1047 CEO Ian Proulx. "We hear you loud and clear on the store prices. So that nano swarm bundle, we're cutting the price in half. Some of the other items in the shop, we're reducing prices across the board.
