Black Ops 7 Developers Are Still Working To Get The Game On New Console

The big reveal at the end of the 2025 Xbox Games Showcase was the announcement of Call of Duty: Black Ops 7.

At first, though, it didn't seem like it was for a Call of Duty game. The trailer, featuring music from Nine Inch Nails and starring Milo Ventimiglia, had a more cinematic approach. It resulted in surprise, for better or worse, that it's a Call of Duty game.

One thing that wasn't much of a surprise, though, was the announced release platforms. Black Ops 7 will be released on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and PC. It will also be available day one on Xbox Game Pass.

Currently, there are no plans for a release on the Nintendo Switch 2 despite the fact that the Switch 2's hardware is comparable to the Xbox One and PS4. This comes even though two years ago, Microsoft and Nintendo signed a 10-year agreement to ensure Nintendo consoles get the same experience as everyone else.
