“Not Tied To A Console Release”: Hollow Knight: Silksong Gets Actual News Following Summer Showcase Snubs

It's safe to say that the Hollow Knight: Silksong community is in shambles. After multiple Steam updates that seemed to indicate a launch was imminent, claims from insiders, and an announcement that the game would be appearing at an Australian exhibit, there was hope and expectation that the game would appear, and potentially shadow drop during one of this year's summer showcases.

The PlayStation event came and went, and, unsurprisingly, Silksong wasn't there. This was no surprise since it hadn't shown up at a PlayStation event before, and there were still two big ones, so hopes remained high. Geoff Keighley's Summer Game Fest then happened, and, once again, Silksong was absent, aside from a joke in a Deadpool VR game reveal trailer, pinning all hopes on Xbox. Of course, although Xbox name-checked the game and showed off a little footage during the reveal of its new handheld, announcing it would be coming to Game Pass and the ROG Xbox Ally on day one in the process, there wasn't much for fans to get excited about. And that was that. Or at least they thought.
