Nintendo Switch 2 Easter Egg Hides Gamecube Startup Sound

Ah, nostalgia. An inspiration for many an old-age product, and a way to relive a bit of your childhood. But, relevant here, it's one of Nintendo's primary tools for marketing the GameCube collection on Nintendo Switch 2.

Nintendo has already put some efforts into pushing this angle for the GameCube collection - that lovely CRT filter wasn't a spur-of-the-moment thing!

But, as it turns out, they added a much smaller detail too. Nothing huge - you probably haven't even spotted it yet, even if you own the games. Once you buy the collection, you can make the Nintendo Switch 2 play the GameCube startup chimes - rolling cube animation and all.

As-is, there are only three games to play in the GameCube collection - F-Zero GX, Soul Calibur 2, and The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker. Nintendo does plan on adding more games to the collection, (and fans have some bright ideas) but for now, this little trick can help you feel right at home.

Spotted by Youtuber Spawn Wave (thanks, Eurogamer), you can get the GameCube startup animation to play if you hold the left stick in any direction when you try...
