If you're looking forward to System Shock 2: 25th Anniversary Remaster's release, Nightdive Studios just announced a new feature today that should add further incentive to pick it up.
One feature which we presumed wouldn't be part of the remaster is now confirmed to be included, and I'm referring to multiplayer. Not only that, but it will even feature cross-platform multiplayer right at launch.

Per Nightdive Studios' press release, "System Shock® 2: 25th Anniversary Remaster features a fully revamped co-op multiplayer mode that vastly improves upon the 1999 original and Nightdive’s first System Shock 2 re-release from 2013. Returning fans and newcomers alike will now have access to cross-platform multiplayer between PC and consoles, with various other refinements, making this the definitive edition of System Shock 2 for fans and newcomers to enjoy.."
