Dune Awakening Boss Calls Game A "Massive Success" After 117,000 Player Record In Early Access

Dune: Awakening is a brand-new survival and crafting MMO developed by Funcom, and the game's Steam reviews have abruptly switched from mostly negative to mostly positive.

On June 5th, players were able to get a head start exploring the desert lands of Arrakis, and despite some expected bugs and crashes, Dune: Awakening is having one of the smoothest launches in recent history.

With the full launch scheduled for June 10th, Funcom CEO Rui Casais just released a statement on YouTube, giving thanks to the community for the success of the head start launch:

"It's been quite the weekend. We never thought we would have so many of you joining us in head start. More than 117,000 of you played at the same time and you gave us a very positive rating on Steam. It is all incredibly humbling, and we're so thankful for this reception."
