Splatoon Raiders Announced As Nintendo Switch 2 Exclusive

Nintendo has announced Splatoon Raiders, the first spin-off title in the franchise, which will be an exclusive for the Nintendo Switch 2. An update for Splatoon 3 was also revealed, one that will add new content and will improve the visuals on the Nintendo Switch 2.

The Splatoon trilogy consists of multiplayer-focused titles, with some single-player elements that primarily function as tutorials for the gameplay systems. The DLC expansions tend to offer more substantial solo content, with more lore information about the characters and the Splatoon world.

In a surprise move, Nintendo has randomly revealed Splatoon Raiders on the Nintendo Today app, before uploading the trailer to YouTube. This new game is a spin-off featuring characters from Splatoon 3, as they step away from ink battles and go exploring.

Splatoon Raiders Takes The Deep Cut Trio On An Adventure

Splatoon Raiders only has a brief trailer, revealing that players are controlling a character called the “Mechanic,” who helps the Deep Cut Trio as they explore the Spirhalite Islands. It’s currently unclear whether this is a multiplayer game, or whether it will Splatoon’s first ever fully solo game.
