A big update is coming to No Man's Sky next week.

Developer Hello Games is currently teasing a new update for No Man's Sky. The update is being called Origins, and will drop sometime next week. The developer stated that the patch notes for the update will release alongside it next week. Hello Games is teasing something big, as they are stating that Origins will be the start of something new.

"Four years ago we announced Foundation, our first major update for No Man's Sky, we promised 'it won't be our largest update, but it is the start of something.' Those words were true at the time, and they ring true for Origins" Hello Games stated. "We called it origins because it is the start of something new, as No Man's Sky continues to grow and evolve."

Hello Games went on to state that since one of their biggest updates, Beyond, they have been focused on releasing more regular updates. They state that their latest updates have led to No Man's Sky's biggest year yet. They also state that while they have been quiet, they are always focusing on improving the game.

"We know there is a huge appetite in the community for No Man's Sky content, and the team has worked our socks off this year to deliver in difficult circumstances. We have been quiet, but we are always listening and focusing on improving the game that our team loves and feels so passionately about."

"This update will be another small step in a longer journey. We hope you can join us."

Earlier this summer cross-platform play was implemented into the game. This has allowed PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One gamers to all play with each other. This allows players of different platforms to explore, journey, survive, build, and trade together. Cross-platform play was introduced into the game on the same day the No Man's Sky was added to Xbox Game Pass.

No Man's Sky is available now for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
