Don't Expect Dune: Awakening On Consoles Anytime Soon

Funcom's Dune: Awakening officially launches today on PC, but the game is also confirmed to be headed to the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. If you plan to wait for the console version before jumping into the world of Arrakis, you'll be waiting quite a while.

While Funcom hasn't revealed the Dune: Awakening console release date, the company has confirmed it won't be released this year.

This is a massive blow to fans of the Dune franchise who wanted to play the massively multiplayer survival game on their consoles.

Dune: Awakening Console Versions Won't Be Available Until Next Year At The Earliest

In a statement sent to IGN, Funcom confirmed that Dune: Awakening for consoles won't be available until "sometime in 2026." That's about it. There is no explanation why the console release is taking this long, nor whether we should expect it in early 2026, Q2, or otherwise. Given the uncertainty, don't expect the console release anytime soon, as we're six months out from 2026. The chances of the game releasing in January 2026 don't seem probable, considering the studio can't even confirm a release window.
