A few of us are struggling as we wait years for games we've been promised that haven't been given release dates. However, no one has had it quite as hard as Hollow Knight fans. Hollow Knight: Silksong was announced in 2019, and despite previously getting excited about even the slightest update potentially pointing to its arrival, those eagerly awaiting the sequel might have finally run out of energy.
That was demonstrated by reactions to the reveal that, for the first time in years, Team Cherry has updated Silksong's website. Primacon made the discovery and shared their findings on Twitter. The update added PS4 and Nintendo Switch 2 logos to the list of platforms on which Silksong will be available when it finally arrives.
A quick check via the Wayback Machine and those two platforms were indeed missing as recently as June 9, 2025.
Usually, an update like that, even though it's only reiterating information we already knew, would have had Hollow Knight fans virtually gathering on every social media platform, trying to figure out what it might mean and when the game will finally be here. In this case, the replies to the post are uncharacteristically filled with pessimism....
