Mindseye went from a potential Cyberpunk 2077/GTA love letter to a complete disaster real fast earlier this week. Suspicions were already raised after developer Build A Rocket Boy didn't send out review copies before launch, and fans quickly discovered that the reason for that was because Mindseye is a gigantic mess, described as "unplayable" by some.
Just hours after launch, fans were sharing videos of floating cars, horribly mutated civilians, and irritating stuttering issues, which all culminated in an overall Steam user review rating of Mostly Negative. It's difficult to see any game this year having a worse launch than MindsEye, and now that the cat is out of the bag, the developer is seemingly in damage control mode.
First shared by Kotaku reporter Ethan Gach, a popular streamer called CohhCarnage has claimed that his sponsored MindsEye stream that he was set to do earlier today was canceled at the last minute by the game's developer. In fact, the canleation was so last-minute that CohhCarnage was apparently loading up MindsEye and getting ready to play when he received the email.
