A special livestream to celebrate the ongoing crossover between Stellar Blade and Goddess of Victory: Nikke, and also to commemorate the fifteenth anniversary of the Nier series, recently aired. The stream featured the directors of the three aforementioned games, along with former PlayStation executive Shuhei Yoshida and Nier series producer Yosuke Saito.
It was announced during the stream that Goddess of Victory: Nikke will be re-running its crossover with Nier: Automata on July 3. The crossover, entitled Outer Automata, originally debuted in 2023.
The subject of the crossover caused Yoko Taro to joke that he regrets introducing the Nier: Automata community to Goddess of Victory: Nikke, because Nier lost all of its 'explicit cosplayers' to Shift Up's third-person shooter (thanks, Automaton).
"I wondered, maybe we shouldn't have done this collab," joked Taro. He later heaped praise on Shift Up's two titles, saying "Both Nikke and Stellar Blade are incredibly high-quality titles, and to be honest, I feel intimidated and no longer want to be part of the same industry."
Nier: Automata has previously collaborated with Stellar Blade, with Eve receiving Nier-inspired outfits.
