Late last week, during Microsoft's annual Xbox Games Showcase, the company revealed its long-rumored handheld, a partnership with ASUS and its ROG brand for the Xbox ROG Ally, a handheld that will seemingly let you play everything, including PlayStation games that have been released on PC via Steam.

The ROG Xbox Ally X could capitalise on one key failing of the Steam Deck and Nintendo Switch 2.

No other information was given, aside from a vague "Holiday 2025" window. Now, flash forward to today, and a reliable Xbox insider has shared some information about the upcoming piece of hardware, including when gamers will be able to pre-order it, its price, as well as a potential release date.

As first spotted on Reddit, insider eXtas1s has revealed that pre-orders for Microsoft's first foray into the handheld market will begin as early as August, with October being eyed as a launch month.

When it comes to cost, this is where things start to get interesting. The ROG Xbox Ally, which will boast 16GB of memory, 512GB of storage, along with AMD's Ryzen Z2 A chip will be €599.
