The launch of MindsEye has been an unmitigated disaster at levels not seen since last year's Concord debacle. The game was laden with bugs at launch, leading the development team to announce it was "heartbroken". This sympathy play did nothing for the game, though, as it was hit with terrible Steam user reviews and became the worst-reviewed game by critics of 2025, so far.
The plight doesn't stop there either. During its launch weekend, MindsEye dropped to just 260 players as devs scrambled to cancel sponsored streams and PlayStation began issuing refunds, much like it did with Cyberpunk 2077 in 2020.

Given just how badly the game has been received, you'd be forgiven for thinking that players would pick it up for an hour, see what it's all about, then unceremoniously drop it, never to think of it again. While I'm sure many have done exactly that, a surprising number of players have achieved the MindsEye Platinum Trophy, or its equivalent on other platforms.
