The remake of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time is progressing smoothly, according to a development update from Ubisoft. First announced in 2020 with ambitions of a 2021 release, Ubisoft's remake of its 2003 classic, Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, suffered an indefinite delay as Ubisoft Montreal took over the project from Ubisoft Mumbai and Pune, reportedly rebooting development. The last update took place at Ubisoft's June 2024 Forward showcase, where the remake received a 30-second CG teaser with a 2026 release window.
After years of dormancy during the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 generation, Ubisoft's Prince of Persia franchise is seeing somewhat of a rejuvenation.
