Pokemon Fans Need to Keep an Eye on Gamescom This Year

On June 17, Pokemon announced that the franchise will return to Gamescom later this year, though precise details of its appearance at the annual expo remain elusive. Pokemon will join companies like Nintendo and Capcom at the 2025 edition of Gamescom, which will be held from August 20 to 24 at the Koelnmesse exhibition center in Cologne, Germany.

Pokemon's appearance at Gamescom will take place just under two months before the launch of Pokemon Legends: Z-A. The upcoming Switch title will take players back to Lumiose City, which first appeared in Pokemon X and Y, and will focus on the legendary Zygarde. Along with the return to the Kalos region, Pokemon Legends: Z-A will also reintroduce the popular Mega Evolution mechanic as the main battle gimmick alongside a faster pace to combat that has not been seen in the series before. Pokemon Legends: Z-A will launch on October 16, with additional pre-order bonuses now available in the EU for trainers to consider.

The next Seven-Star Tera Raid battle in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet breaks a recently established pattern with its upcoming release.
