After playing the Gears of War: Reloaded beta this past weekend, several fans have chosen to dip back into Gears 5 while waiting for the next beta period this coming weekend, only to discover the game isn't working properly on PC, with no fix in sight. Gears of War: Reloaded is, essentially, a remaster of the previously remastered Gears of War 1, which was titled Gears of War: Ultimate Edition. Reloaded will see some improvements, like 4K native resolution, but the only major addition to the game is it being available on PlayStation 5.
In a Reddit thread by Halo-player69, some PC players are going back to Gears 5 until the beta continues this coming weekend, and are discovering the game is virtually unplayable, at least on Game Pass on PC. While downloading the game from Game Pass, the base game will download, but then all extensive updates the game received over the years do not download, and neither do the campaign nor the entirety of the multiplayer offerings, like Horde Mode. Parts of the PvP game modes do still work, like Quickplay matches.
