GameStop Is Auctioning Off Infamous Item That Destroyed A Switch 2, & Bids Are Already Over $10,000

GameStop is auctioning off the now-infamous stapler that played a part in damaging at least one Nintendo Switch 2 console. In case you missed it, the internet was ablaze on the week of the Nintendo Switch 2 launch back in June when one GameStop stapled the screen of a Switch 2 console through the box. The situation was especially bleak at the time, because folks weren't sure how readily the Switch 2 would actually be restocked, following tons of pre-order snafus.

Thankfully, the situation was resolved by GameStop itself, which responded to the mishap in short order and replaced the consoles for fans. Now, they're back for another follow-up with the aforementioned auction. This time the mishap directly benefits a charity, and puts a nice bow on the debacle, which still feels like a fever dream given how many people were talking about it.

According to the company itself, GameStop is now auctioning off the infamous item, with the proceeds directly benefiting Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.
