The iconic Peanuts franchise is turning 75 this year, and Screen Rant can exclusively reveal that it's getting new card games and an exclusive San Diego Comic Con promo release to celebrate. Since its debut in 1950, Peanuts has expanded from a witty comic strip into a multimedia franchise that covers everything from the classic holiday TV specials to a dizzying array of Snoopy t-shirts. The newest 75th anniversary products aren't the first Peanuts venture into tabletop game products, but they could be an exciting development for fans.
Created by Cryptozoic Entertainment, Peanuts Playpaks: 75 Years and Peanuts: The Doctor Is In will be releasing on August 1 and debuting at San Diego Comic-Con on July 24-27. Peanuts Playpaks: 75 are trading card packs with included activities, while Peanuts: The Doctor Is In recreates Lucy's unhelpful psychiatric advice in card game form. At SDCC, two exclusive convention Playpaks with six cards each will be available, and Peanuts purchases at Cryptozoic's booth #115 will come with Promo Card P4, emblazoned with "The Gang's All Here," while supplies last.
While both of the new Peanuts card products might be attractive to fans, they offer very different points...
