The release date for NBA 2K26 has officially been revealed along with the different editions for this year's game. Yesterday saw the announcement of NBA champion Shai Gilgeous-Alexander as the Standard Edition cover athlete. This year's MVP will also share the cover of another edition of the game. There will be four in total and they will be available on September 5. Early Access will release a week prior on Friday, August 29 at 9:00 AM for those that get the two highest editions for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC. The game will also be coming to Nintendo Switch 2 along with last generation consoles.
Who's on the Covers of NBA 2K26?
With SGA coming to the Standard Edition, there will be a next level above this with the NBA 2K26 Superstar Edition. The cover of this version will feature the 2025 Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame Inductee, ten-time NBA All-Star, three-time Olympic Gold Medalist and a member of the NBA 75th Anniversary Team.
