Several new Pokemon games revealed for Switch

Nintendo has announced a lot of Pokemon happiness for Switch owners. During a press conference late yesterday, the company revealed several themed games.

Pokemon Quest is a "free to start" RPG that is already out for Switch. It features Pokemon characters that sport a blocky appearance. The action takes place in the Kanto region. Being "free to start", it's likely that portions of the game are totally free with some paid upgrades or convenience items. The trailer below also indicates that Pokemon Quest will be "coming soon to mobile devices" as well.

The second pair of games will blend the "classic RPG experience" with Pokemon Go, the huge augmented reality mobile game that has been downloaded over 800 million times since it came out in 2016. Called Pokemon: Let's Go Pikachu! and Pokemon: Let's Go Evee!, the two games will support multiplayer and a new "Poke Ball Plus accessory that works to throw Poke Balls in-game as a motion controller and works as a Pokemon Go Plus when away from home" according to Engadget. The pair will be released on November 16, 2018.

Lastly, and most mysteriously, Nintendo announced an additional "core RPG" Pokemon game that is already in development and planned for release in late 2019. The only thing we actually know about it is that it is "in the style of Pokemon X and Y and Sun and Moon".
