The rumored Halo: Combat Evolved remake may not have a multiplayer mode, if one leaker is to be believed. Neither Microsoft nor Halo Studios has officially confirmed that a remake of the first game is in the works, but it's becoming increasingly clear that something big is in the pipeline for the series. If that does mean fans are getting a next-gen version of Halo: Combat Evolved, this latest news could be a huge blow to an otherwise exciting announcement.

The Verge's Tom Warren claimed that Microsoft was working on a Halo: CE remaster in June 2024. According to Warren, the company is also considering releasing the game on PlayStation 5 as part of Xbox's recent move away from console exclusivity.
