All eyes turned to Ghost of Yōtei on July 10 as the upcoming title from Sucker Punch Productions was spotlighted in its own State of Play. Roughly 20 minutes of gameplay information was capped off with the reveal of two new limited-edition PlayStation 5 consoles, both themed after the game.
The State of Play premiered on the PlayStation YouTube channel, but a dedicated PlayStation Blog post went up after the livestream detailing the Ghost of Yōtei-themed limited-edition PS5s and their accompanying DualSense controllers. Both stylized consoles bear the same pattern, Mount Yōtei rendered in brushstrokes which transition into lines inspired by kintsugi, the traditional Japanese practice of repairing shattered ceramics – one in gold and one in black. "The design captures the essence and aesthetic of kintsugi, symbolizing beauty in imperfection and mirroring Atsu’s own personal journey of healing and resilience amidst the adversities she’ll face along the way," says PlayStation Blog.
