Details for Dynamax Adventures, a new feature coming to Pokémon Sword and Shield through the upcoming expansion, The Crown Tundra, have been released.

Details for The Crown Tundra's Dynamax Adventures were released ahead of the expansion's debut. On a recent episode of the Japanese show Pokenchi, it was explained how the feature would work (via Serebii). In Dynamax Adventures, up to four players explore a Pokémon den. There is a Legendary Pokémon at the end of the den, but players will have to face off against 3 Dynamax Pokémon before they can reach it. After defeating the Dynamax Pokémon, gamers will be given options on which way they want to go before finally reaching the Legendary Pokémon.

As players delve deeper into the den, any lost HP or PP carries over as they continue on. However, players will run into characters or berries that will be able to restore any lost HP or PP. When gamers reach the Legendary Pokémon, they will be able to capture it automatically after defeating it. Players are only able to capture one of every Legendary Pokémon that will be added to Sword and Shield through The Crown Tundra. Every Legendary Pokémon that has ever been introduced in a main series Pokémon game will be available. However, Pokémon deemed "Mythical" may not be included in The Crown Tundra's roster.

When The Crown Tundra releases later this week, it will add a bit of new content to Sword and Shield. This includes older Pokémon being added from previous games, new Galarian forms, and characters. The Crown Tundra will be an open area for players to explore much like The Isle of Armor. The expansion will also be introducing a new feature called the Galarian Star Tournament. In this tournament, players will encounter trainers that they have run into throughout their adventures in Galar. They will be able to team up with them in the tournament to take it on as a team.

Pokémon Sword and Shield are available now for the Nintendo Switch. The Crown Tundra releases on October 22nd. The expansion is a part of the game's Season Pass.
