The Halloween spectacle continues seeping into every live-service game this month, and the latest to get spooky is Call of Duty: Warzone with its new Haunting of Verdansk makeover. The event kicks off today and features its own roadmap heftier than a five-hour trick-or-treating binge.

Chief among the changes is the map itself. Areas will be remade in several ways with seasonally appropriate decor and a blanket of night enveloping all of Verdansk. Night Time battle royale will apparently be its own game mode according to the road map image released by Activision and Infinity Ward. Other new modes include Juggourdnaut Royale, where juggernauts now don Jack-O-Lantern heads like they're out for Ichabod Crane. Night Time Plunder will get a standalone mode too, as well as Zombie Royale which is teased in the trailer below.

There will also be 16 "Trick or Treat" rewards across Warzone , like pumpkin weapon skins, for players to unlock. In Modern Warfare, players can also expect new modes like TDM Snipers Only, "Gunfright," Onslaught-er, and Halloween Mosh Pit. In week two of the Halloween event, there will also be a double XP weekend, which means Halloween itelf will come with bonus treats for players staying home this year. A Gunfight Tournament is also in the works, as well as a new weapon, the Jak-12 shotgun.

Of course, watch the trailer and what takes center stage over all of these things are two exciting licensed skins coming to Warzone. Leatherface from The Texas Chain Saw Massacre as well as Jigsaw from Saw will both be available in the shop as of today. Each character comes with their own unique weapon skins and other cosmetics. These were leaked last week, but now Activision has made it official. The event runs for two weeks and concludes on November 3, by which time we'll all have eaten several pounds of discount Halloween candy, signalling the proper end to the bewitching season.

Haunting of Verdansk is available now as a free update.
