It's been over four years since Guilty Gear Strive first launched, and with Season 4 just about wrapping up, a lot of fans of the series have been wondering what's next for the series. We know that Season 5 is on the way, but we've yet to hear anything about a new Guilty Gear game, with news mysteriously absent from Arc System Works' recent game showcase event.

Turns out, the reason for Guilty Gear's absence is potentially quite depressing, as it's been reported that an in-development Guilty Gear game has been cancelled. This is according to Insider Gaming, which claims its "sources" have said a new Guilty Gear was cancelled within the last couple of weeks, though an exact reason was not given.
